HARWINTON, Conn. — A Connecticut community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of a 5-year-old girl who died after suffering severe injuries in a playscape accident over the weekend.
The child, identified as Olivia Videtto, was a kindergarten student at Harwinton Consolidated School. According to local officials, emergency responders were called to a residence Sunday afternoon after receiving reports that a young child had fallen from a playscape and sustained a serious head injury.
Medical personnel rushed to the scene and Olivia was airlifted to a nearby hospital by helicopter for emergency treatment. Despite the efforts of first responders and medical staff, she later died from her injuries.
