Suspect Arrested in Connection With Front Street Burglary in Natchitoches

NATCHITOCHES, La. — A man is in custody following an early-morning burglary reported at a business along Front Street in Natchitoches, according to local police.

The Natchitoches Police Department confirmed that Thomas Brock, 40, of Natchez, was arrested on January 11 in connection with a burglary that occurred in the 700 block of Front Street.

Officers were dispatched to the area at approximately 1:20 a.m. Sunday after receiving reports that a business had been broken into. When officers arrived on scene, a witness provided a description of the suspect and informed police that the individual was still nearby.

Based on the information provided, officers conducted a search of the surrounding area and located Brock in the 500 block of Front Street. Police said he was taken into custody without incident.

During the investigation, officers recovered property that had been taken from the business. Authorities confirmed that the recovered items were returned to the business owners.

Brock was transported to the LaSalle Corrections / Natchitoches Parish Detention Center, where he was booked on one count of simple burglary. Jail records show he remains in custody as the case moves forward.

At this time, police have not released additional details regarding the business involved or whether further charges may be filed. Investigators have indicated the case remains active.
