Midnight Hotel Raid in Arkansas Leads to Major Drug Seizure, Three Arrested

A late-night operation in Forrest City, Arkansas, resulted in the arrest of three individuals after authorities acted on a confidential tip regarding suspected drug activity at a local hotel.

According to law enforcement officials, officers moved in shortly after midnight on Friday following information shared with the Forrest City Police Department and the St. Francis County Sheriff’s Department. The coordinated response led to a search of a hotel room where investigators uncovered a significant quantity of illegal substances and related materials.

Police reported seizing approximately 1.26 pounds of methamphetamine, along with 18 needles, a digital scale, a firearm, and a large number of plastic baggies believed to be used for packaging narcotics. Authorities also recovered $8,760 in cash, which they suspect is connected to drug distribution activities.

Three suspects were taken into custody:

  • Sonya Partain, 54
  • Michael Like, 49
  • Jessica Merrida, 34

Michael Like is currently being held on a $100,000 bond, while Sonya Partain and Jessica Merrida each face $50,000 bonds.

All three individuals are facing multiple felony charges, including trafficking a controlled substance, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.

Authorities have not disclosed the name of the hotel involved. The case remains under active investigation.
