Kiskiminetas Township, Pennsylvania – More than a decade after a young man vanished without a trace, authorities in Armstrong County are once again urging the public to come forward with information. Investigators have renewed efforts in the disappearance of Albert Leroy Copper, a case that has remained unsolved since 2013, now offering a $5,000 reward for any tip that leads to answers.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police Troop A, Kiski Valley Criminal Investigations Unit, Copper was reported missing on June 6, 2013. He had left his home around 3:45 a.m., reportedly heading to work, but never arrived at his destination. Concern grew quickly when he failed to return home, prompting his family to contact authorities later that same morning.
As the search began, investigators located Copper’s vehicle later that afternoon at approximately 2:30 p.m. The car was found parked in a secluded dirt pull-off area in the woods, about a quarter mile east of State Route 156 in Kiskiminetas Township. Despite this discovery, there were no immediate signs explaining what may have happened, and Copper himself was nowhere to be found.
Authorities say there has been no confirmed sighting or communication from Copper since that day. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear, leaving investigators with more questions than answers even after all these years.
At the time he went missing, Copper was 24 years old. He is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, with red hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black “Peterbilt” baseball cap, a gray T-shirt, blue jeans, sneakers, and black and gray Hanes underwear.
Law enforcement officials continue to stress that even the smallest piece of information could be critical in solving the case. With the passage of time, they hope renewed attention and the reward incentive will encourage someone to come forward.
