Brewer, Maine – A police response to a hotel in Brewer earlier this month turned into a major drug bust, resulting in the arrest of five individuals after officers reportedly discovered illegal substances, a firearm, and drug-related items inside the property.
According to the Brewer Police Department, officers were initially called to the hotel on April 15 to assist in removing certain guests from the premises. What began as a routine call quickly escalated when authorities identified suspicious activity during their response.
Upon arrival, officers conducted a search and uncovered illegal drugs, a firearm, and paraphernalia commonly associated with drug use and distribution. The discovery led to immediate arrests at the scene.
Police identified three individuals—Daniel Joshua Meredith (29), Emilie Gilman (29), and Robert Kerr (57)—who now face charges related to unlawful drug possession. Kerr is facing additional charges, including possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and violating conditions of release.
Two others—Bryce Samuelson (33) and Lillian Samuelson (33)—were arrested on more serious charges, including drug trafficking and violating conditions of release, indicating a possible larger operation tied to the incident.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the exact type or quantity of drugs recovered, and it remains unclear whether further charges or arrests could follow. The investigation is ongoing as police continue to examine the evidence collected at the scene.
Local officials emphasized that such operations are part of ongoing efforts to address drug-related activity in the area and ensure community safety. Residents in the vicinity were not reported to be in immediate danger during the incident.
As the case moves forward, more details are expected to emerge regarding the circumstances that led to the bust and the potential connections between those arrested.
