Domestic Dispute Turns Violent as Man Accused of Threatening Wife, Injuring 12-Year-Old Son

Green River, Wyoming: A disturbing domestic violence case out of Green River has led to the arrest of a 41-year-old man after an argument inside his home allegedly escalated into threats, physical assault, and injuries to both his wife and young son.

According to officials, the incident took place on March 7, when officers from the Green River Police Department responded to a call from the residence. What they encountered pointed to a situation that had grown increasingly volatile over time.

When police arrived, the man—identified as Travis Scott Warren—told officers he had been injured during an argument with his wife and claimed she had kicked him in the head. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

However, as authorities began gathering more information, a more serious picture emerged.

At the same hospital, Warren’s 12-year-old son was being treated for a broken wrist. Investigators say the child described a tense and violent environment at home, telling officers that his parents had been fighting frequently in recent days.

According to the child’s statement, the situation escalated when his father allegedly grabbed a knife during an argument in the kitchen and moved toward his mother. Fearing for her safety, the boy intervened, knocking the knife away and attempting to restrain his father. During the struggle, he felt his wrist “pop,” later confirmed to be fractured.

The child’s account was supported by his mother, who told investigators that her son stepped in to protect her during the confrontation.

She also alleged that her husband had threatened her life multiple times during the argument, including making a graphic statement about harming her with a knife. While she believed some actions may have been intended to intimidate, she described the situation as frightening and out of control.

Investigators documented additional claims of violence, including being struck with household items and punched during the altercation. Officers also noted physical evidence at the scene that appeared to support parts of her statement.

Authorities say the incident moved through different parts of the home as tensions escalated, before the woman was eventually able to get away.

Warren was arrested the following day. He now faces multiple charges, including domestic battery, aggravated assault, and child abuse. He is currently being held at the Sweetwater County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond.

Officials have not released further details about the family but confirmed that the child received medical treatment and is recovering.

This case remains under investigation, and authorities have emphasized the seriousness of domestic violence situations, especially when children are involved.

If you or someone you know is facing domestic abuse, local law enforcement and support organizations encourage reaching out for help and reporting incidents early.
