What Happened
Authorities say the situation unfolded around 1:15 a.m., when Hosso’s parents contacted police after receiving a disturbing call from their son. He allegedly told them that he had killed his wife at their residence and was threatening suicide.
When officers arrived at the home in Seven Fields, they discovered Spatafore inside the residence. Police confirmed she had died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Hosso was not found at the scene initially, prompting a search in the surrounding area.
Discovery in Nearby Woods
Shortly after, officers located Hosso in a wooded area behind the home. He was found deceased from a single gunshot wound. Investigators believe this was a self-inflicted injury, and the case is being treated as a suspected murder-suicide.

Madeline Spatafore was a healthcare professional working as an advanced practice provider in the neurovascular ICU department at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

She and Hosso were high school sweethearts who had recently started their married life, tying the knot in September 2024 in Ohio.
