19-Year-Old Killed in Ohio State Stabbing After Turf Field Altercation

A tragic incident at Ohio State University has left a 19-year-old man dead following a violent altercation on campus turf fields.

According to the Franklin County Coroner’s Office, the victim, Guilliani Olguin Jacinto, died at 12:37 a.m. on April 11 after being transported to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The stabbing occurred the previous evening around 7:45 p.m. on the Lincoln Tower turf fields, located near Cannon Drive.

Police reported that the incident began as a confrontation between two groups that escalated into a physical fight. During the altercation, Jacinto was stabbed and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Authorities quickly responded to the scene and detained a suspect.

Investigators confirmed that neither the victim nor the suspect were students at Ohio State. A 15-year-old boy has been charged in connection with the case in juvenile court. Prosecutors are seeking to transfer the case to adult court, which could significantly impact the legal outcome.

During a recent hearing, the teen was ordered to remain in custody at a juvenile facility. His defense attorney claims the incident was an act of self-defense, stating that the teenager and his friends were approached and confronted by a group of adults.

Police continue to investigate and are urging witnesses to come forward as the case develops.
