A 5-year-old boy was struck by a car while riding an e-bike in Levittown and had to be airlifted to a Philadelphia children’s hospital.
A Sunday evening in Levittown turned into a community emergency when a 5-year-old boy riding an e-bike was struck by a car near Truman High School, according to Bristol Township Police.
The boy was riding a “Strike Throne” e-bike and traveling east out of the high school’s parking lot onto Green Lane when a 2022 Toyota Camry, heading south toward Mill Creek Road, struck him on the front passenger side.
First responders from the Fairless Hills Rescue Squad rushed the child to St. Mary’s Hospital. But given the nature of the crash, he was then airlifted to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) — one of the top pediatric trauma centers in the country.
As of the time of this report, the severity of the boy’s injuries has not been confirmed by police.
