Car Bursts Into Flames on Miami-Dade's 135th Street — 1 Dead, 2 Critical, Neighbors Traumatized

A violent late-night crash on Miami-Dade’s 135th Street has left one person dead, two women fighting for their lives, and an entire neighborhood shaken to its core.

The crash happened when a speeding vehicle slammed into several parked cars, sending debris across the road and setting the car ablaze. The driver, a man, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Two female passengers were rushed to a nearby hospital and remain in critical condition.

Neighbor Carlos Tapanes was jolted awake by the sound of screeching tires and shattering glass. He ran outside to find a scene he says he will never forget — flames, wreckage, and chaos just steps from his front door.

His father’s parked car took the impact of the crash — and Tapanes believes it may have saved his life.

What makes this story even more alarming is what longtime residents are now revealing about this exact stretch of road. This was not the first time. Not even close.

Neighbors say cars have been destroyed at this same spot multiple times before. One resident revealed that the two cars parked outside were already replacements from a previous crash at the same location — and that several other vehicles had been totaled by speeding on 135th Street over the years.

“This time, unfortunately, lives were lost,” one neighbor said.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office has not yet released the identities of the victims. Investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of the crash.
