Tragic Bike Path Crash in Davis: 1 Dead After Collision Between Adult and Minor

A peaceful afternoon ride turned fatal Monday in the Northern California city of Davis after two bicyclists collided on a local bike path, leaving one person dead and another injured.

Officers responded around 2:48 p.m. to reports of a crash in the area of Community Park, near West Covell Boulevard and Catalina Drive. When emergency crews arrived, they found two riders injured — one adult and one minor.

Authorities confirmed that the adult bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The second rider, a minor, suffered minor injuries and is cooperating fully with investigators.

E-Bike Involved, Investigation Ongoing

Police noted that at least one of the riders was operating an e-bike, though officials have not clarified which individual was using it.

The collision prompted a temporary closure of the bike path as officers secured the area and began their investigation. The exact cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
