An Alabama man is facing several criminal charges after an 18-month-old child was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash earlier this year.
Authorities say the incident happened on February 14, when Aaron Lee Roberson allegedly operated his motorcycle while under the influence of alcohol. Court records state that the toddler was riding on the motorcycle at the time and was not wearing a helmet.
Investigators allege that Roberson was speeding and driving recklessly along a paved roadway before losing control of the motorcycle. The crash reportedly left the child with severe injuries to the head and face.
According to court documents, Roberson did not contact emergency services following the accident and left the scene without reporting what had happened.
He now faces multiple charges, including second-degree assault, leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving.
Officials have not released additional information regarding the child’s current medical condition.
