A man is recovering after being struck by a stray bullet during a shooting incident in St. Paul on Friday evening, according to authorities.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of White Bear Avenue and Old Hudson Road at approximately 8:50 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. When police arrived, they located a man at a nearby bus stop suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Emergency responders transported the victim to a hospital. Officials later confirmed that his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Preliminary findings indicate that individuals inside two separate vehicles were exchanging gunfire at the intersection. Investigators believe the victim was not involved in the altercation and was unintentionally struck while waiting at the bus stop.
Both vehicles reportedly fled the area before officers reached the scene. Authorities have not yet released information regarding the number of people involved or how many shots were fired.
No arrests have been made as of late Friday, and police in Minnesota continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
