A five-day-old baby girl has died following a dog attack inside a home in Novi, Michigan, authorities confirmed.
Emergency responders were dispatched around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday to a residence on Liberte Drive after a report of an unresponsive infant. According to officials, a family member discovered the newborn with severe injuries believed to have been caused by a dog inside the home.
The infant was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Police said the dog involved in the incident has been removed from the residence. No additional details about the animal or the family have been released at this time.
