Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that left two people dead inside a home in Clinton Township on Monday evening.
Officers with the Clinton Township Police Department responded around 8 p.m. to a residence on the 36000 block of Farmbrook Drive after concerned relatives reported they were unable to contact the occupants.
When officers arrived, they looked through a window and observed two adults inside who appeared unresponsive. Police then forced entry into the home to check on them.
Inside, a 26-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were found deceased. Investigators believe the deaths resulted from a shooting.
Officials stated that early findings suggest the situation was isolated and that there is no ongoing danger to the community.
The department’s Criminal Investigations Unit is handling the case, with assistance from the Macomb County Medical Examiner’s Office. The investigation remains active as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
