Pregnant Woman and Partner Killed in Pomona Crash After Police Pursuit, Family Left Devastated

A tragic police pursuit in Pomona, California, ended in heartbreak Wednesday night, claiming the lives of a young couple who were just days away from welcoming their child.

Authorities confirmed that Marc Anthony Trejo and Jennifer Alejandra Loera Zarco were killed when a fleeing suspect crashed into their vehicle. Zarco was pregnant, and according to family members, the couple had been eagerly preparing for their baby’s arrival.

Pomona police responded to a domestic violence call around 9:33 p.m. on East Tenth Street. When officers attempted to intervene, the suspect—later identified as Marshall Judson—rammed a patrol car and fled, triggering a pursuit. The chase ended when his vehicle collided with another car near Garey Avenue and County Road, killing both victims at the scene.

Inside the suspect’s vehicle, officers reportedly found a firearm and related components. Police also stated he was allegedly driving under the influence and without a valid license at the time of the crash. He has since been taken into custody and faces multiple serious charges, including vehicular manslaughter and assault on a peace officer.

For the victims’ families, the loss is immeasurable. Trejo’s father described the couple as creative, hopeful, and full of plans for their future. Relatives gathered at the crash site the following day, placing flowers in remembrance of lives cut tragically short.

A fundraiser has been organized to support funeral expenses, as loved ones struggle to cope with the sudden loss of not just two lives—but three.
