A quiet morning in Menifee took a disturbing turn when a group of children reportedly discovered a dead body at a local park, prompting an immediate police response.
According to the Menifee Police Department, officers were called early Wednesday to Wheatfield Park after receiving reports of a possible suicide. The park is located along Menifee Road near La Piedra Road, a residential area typically known for its calm surroundings.
When officers arrived, they found the body of an adult male. Authorities later identified him as Brian Aguirre, a 48-year-old resident of the city.
Police stated that, at this stage, there are no signs of foul play. While the investigation remains ongoing, officials have not yet released the exact cause of death. Standard procedures, including a medical examination, are expected to determine further details.
The incident has understandably left the local community shaken, especially given that children were the ones who first came across the scene. Authorities have not disclosed additional details about the circumstances leading up to the discovery.
Officials are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward as the investigation continues.
