Florence, South Carolina — A coordinated undercover investigation targeting illegal drug activity in Florence County has resulted in multiple arrests this week, following the execution of search warrants at two separate locations, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials say the operation, which spanned several weeks, focused on identifying and dismantling suspected narcotics distribution networks in the area. The investigation culminated on Wednesday when deputies carried out a primary search at a residence on South 5th Street in Florence.
Major Drug Seizure at South 5th Street Residence
During the search, investigators reported discovering what they described as a significant quantity of illegal substances, including cocaine, cocaine base (commonly known as crack cocaine), and methamphetamine.
Three individuals — James Eli Washington Jr. (44), Landard Antoine Baker (50), and Victoria Michell Gregg (36) — were taken into custody at the scene.
Authorities allege that all three were involved in the possession and distribution of the narcotics recovered. They now face multiple trafficking-related charges and are currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center while awaiting bond hearings.
Separate Operation Leads to Additional Arrest
In a separate case on the same day, deputies executed another search warrant at a home on Wingate Avenue. During that operation, Tyrone Bruce (51) was arrested.
Investigators allege that Bruce sold crack cocaine to a confidential informant during the course of the investigation. He has been charged with distribution of cocaine base and is also being held at the detention center. Officials confirmed his bond has been set at $15,000.
Ongoing Efforts to Combat Drug Activity
The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that these arrests are part of a broader and ongoing effort to reduce illegal drug activity across Florence County. Authorities indicated that investigations remain active, and additional charges or arrests could follow as more information becomes available.
Law enforcement officials are continuing to urge residents to report suspicious or drug-related activity, highlighting the role of community cooperation in addressing narcotics-related crimes.
Further updates, including court proceedings and case developments, are expected in the coming days as the investigation progresses.
