LAKE ELSINORE, California — A 44-year-old motorcyclist is dead after a late-night crash in Lake Elsinore, and authorities are still trying to figure out what went wrong.
The crash happened around 11 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Railroad Canyon Road and Church Road, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies arrived, they found the rider unresponsive on the ground with what officials described as “significant injuries.”
Paramedics Could Not Save Him
Riverside County Fire Department paramedics responded and attempted life-saving measures at the scene.
Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead where he fell.
He has been identified as Joshua Coan, 44, of Menifee.
What We Know — and What We Don’t
The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station’s Traffic Team has taken over the investigation.
As of now, they have not determined what caused the crash or whether any other vehicles were involved.
The intersection of Railroad Canyon Road and Church Road is a busy corridor in the area, but no further details about the conditions at the time have been released.
