Attempted Robbery in Rocky Mount Ends with Suspect Shot, Two Arrested

An attempted robbery in Rocky Mount took a dramatic turn early Tuesday morning when a victim defended himself, leaving one suspect injured and two men now facing serious charges.

According to police, officers were called to the 800 block of West Raleigh Boulevard shortly after 2 a.m. following reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they spoke with a male victim who said he fired his weapon after another man tried to rob him.

Emergency responders treated the victim at the scene for non-life-threatening lacerations. Authorities said his injuries were not considered serious.

Shortly after the incident, officers spotted a vehicle believed to be connected to the attempted robbery leaving the area. Police conducted a traffic stop and took two suspects into custody.

The suspects were identified as 34-year-old Risheen Robinson and 23-year-old Aubrey Hill Jr. Both have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police said Hill was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound at the time of his arrest. He was transported to Nash UNC Health Care for treatment and later released.

Both Robinson and Hill were subsequently taken to the Nash County Jail, where they are being held without bond.

The case highlights the risks surrounding late-night encounters and remains under active investigation as authorities continue to review the circumstances leading up to the incident.
