A tragic incident unfolded early Tuesday morning in Camden County, New Jersey, after a house fire in Gloucester Township led to the discovery of a body inside a townhome. Authorities have launched an active investigation as officials work to determine what happened and how the fire started.
The fire was reported at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Freedom Way in the Erial section of Gloucester Township. Emergency crews quickly arrived at the scene after receiving calls about smoke and flames coming from the residential property.
According to officials, the situation escalated as firefighters battled the blaze and searched the home. During their response, a body was found inside the townhome. The individual was later removed from the property and transported in what appeared to be a coroner’s vehicle. At this time, authorities have not released the identity of the victim.
