Daycare Worker Arrested After Alleged Intoxication Incident Involving Child in Minnesota

A 21-year-old daycare worker in Plymouth has been charged after authorities say she reported to work intoxicated and was involved in an incident with a child under her care.

According to police, Aniya Keosongseng was working at a local childcare center when staff initially believed she was experiencing a medical issue. However, responding officers quickly determined she was heavily intoxicated.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage showing her struggling to maintain balance and appearing disoriented. In one moment, she allegedly lost control while holding a child, causing the child’s head to hit a wall. Authorities also state that she later fell on top of the child while attempting to move.

Police reported that her condition worsened throughout the afternoon, with visible signs such as slurred speech and unsteady movement. A breath test reportedly showed an extremely high blood alcohol level, far above the legal limit.

When officers attempted to detain her, she allegedly resisted and bit one of them. Due to her condition, she was taken to a hospital before being booked.

The daycare facility confirmed that she was immediately terminated following the incident. Officials also stated that children were quickly moved to safety and no injuries were reported.

She now faces charges related to child endangerment and interfering with law enforcement. The case is expected to proceed in court later this month.
