A terrifying incident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike has left a community shaken — and one dangerous suspect still at large.
What Happened
On the evening of March 28, three men allegedly carried out a planned robbery on the PA Turnpike in Chester County, posing as law enforcement officers to ambush an unsuspecting driver.
Two of the suspects — 21-year-old Tuften Green and 38-year-old Terrell Adams — were driving a Chevrolet Suburban equipped with red and blue flashing lights, making it appear as an official police vehicle. A third suspect, 51-year-old Roberto Morel, followed behind in a separate car.
The Shooting
Around 7:30 p.m., near mile marker 324.9 in Tredyffrin Township, Green and Adams pulled over a Toyota Sienna and told the occupants they were police officers.
When the driver grew suspicious, Green allegedly shot him in the chest. Multiple shots were then fired at the vehicle as the victims tried to escape. A female passenger and a 3-year-old child were also inside the car at the time — neither was physically harmed.
The driver was rushed to a nearby hospital. Authorities have not released an update on his current condition.
Arrests Made — But Gunman Still Free
Morel and Adams have since been taken into custody. Both face serious charges including attempted first-degree murder, impersonating a public servant, aggravated assault, robbery, kidnapping to facilitate a felony, and conspiracy to commit criminal homicide.
However, Tuften Green — the man accused of pulling the trigger — remains on the run. State police have issued an active arrest warrant for Green on the same charges.
