GREEN BAY, Wisconsin — If you have been waiting for real spring warmth to arrive in northeast Wisconsin, this weekend is your window.
The next several days will bring a steady climb from cool and breezy conditions into the upper 70s — a stretch of weather that Green Bay residents will not want to waste indoors.
Wednesday and Thursday: Cool Start, Sunshine Building
Wednesday stays partly sunny with highs near 61 degrees, but do not let the sunshine fool you.
Northwest winds between 15 and 17 mph will gust up to 30 mph through the afternoon, making it feel noticeably cooler than the thermometer suggests. Bundle up if you are heading out.
Overnight temperatures drop into the upper 30s, but skies clear nicely heading into Thursday.
Thursday brings full sunshine and a welcome jump in temperatures, with highs climbing into the mid-60s. A slight chance of overnight showers develops late Thursday night, but the daytime hours look dry and pleasant.
Friday Through Saturday: The Best Days of the Week
Friday turns partly sunny with highs reaching the mid-70s — a significant step up from the breezy chill of midweek.
Then comes Saturday.
Sunny skies and highs near 78 degrees are expected across much of northeast Wisconsin, making it the warmest and most comfortable day of the entire stretch. Whether you are planning yard work, a cookout, or just time outside, Saturday is the day to do it.
Sunday Into Monday: Rain Returns
The good weather does not last forever.
Rain chances begin building late Saturday night, and by Sunday showers become likely as another weather system pushes into the Upper Midwest. Additional showers and thunderstorms are expected Sunday night through Monday.
The saving grace is that temperatures remain mild even through the wet stretch. Highs stay in the upper 60s to upper 70s into early next week, so the rain arrives without the cold.
