Man Ejected From Jeep and Found Unconscious on Road Dies — Dracut Crash Under Investigation

A Tyngsborough man is dead after a violent two-vehicle crash in Dracut Tuesday night — and investigators are still working to piece together exactly what happened.

What Happened?

Emergency crews responded to reports of a rollover crash near 166 Merrimack Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

When they arrived, they found two vehicles — a Jeep Wrangler and a Subaru Forester — involved in a head-on collision.

The Victim

A 48-year-old man was found unconscious on the roadway near the overturned Jeep. He had been ejected from the vehicle.

The man, identified as Damian Torres of Tyngsborough, was rushed to the hospital — where he was later pronounced dead.

Others Involved

A woman and a teenager traveling in the Subaru Forester were also evaluated at the scene. Both were treated for what appeared to be minor injuries.

The Mysterious Search

After early reports suggested a possible second person may have been inside the Jeep, authorities took no chances.

  • A K9 unit was deployed
  • A boat was launched to search surrounding areas

No additional individuals were found.

Investigation Ongoing

The crash remains under active investigation by the Dracut Police Department, with support from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
