A frightening incident near a Natomas neighborhood has left parents shaken after a 10-year-old girl was attacked in broad daylight while riding her bike.
The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon just before 3 p.m. near American Lakes School, close to Nutwood Circle and Stonecreek Drive. According to the child’s mother, the suspect was hiding behind a utility box and suddenly lunged at the girl as she passed by.
The man, described as wearing all black with a ski mask covering his face, pushed the child to the ground and allegedly attempted to assault her. The girl screamed loudly, drawing attention from nearby residents, which likely caused the attacker to flee.
Shaken and in distress, the child rushed home and told her parents, who immediately contacted the Sacramento Police Department. Authorities confirmed they are actively investigating the case and have followed up with the family.
This incident has raised further concern as it resembles a previous case from September 2025, when a woman was reportedly groped in the same area while picking up her children. No suspect has been arrested in that case either.
The mother fears the two incidents may be connected, citing similar descriptions and patterns of behavior.
Police are urging residents to remain alert, especially around children, and report any suspicious activity. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward as the investigation continues.
The community remains on edge as authorities work to identify and apprehend the suspect.
