Bossier City, Louisiana — A disturbing case out of Bossier City has left a young child seriously injured and a mother facing severe criminal charges. Authorities say a 37-year-old woman has been accused of attempting to kill her 4-year-old daughter by forcing her out of a second-story apartment window.
According to the Bossier City Police Department, the incident came to light after the child was taken to Ochsner Medical Center in Shreveport on April 8 with serious injuries, including fractures to both wrists and forearms. Initial reports suggested the child had fallen accidentally from a window at the Mirage Apartments complex.
However, as investigators from the department’s Juvenile Division looked deeper into the case, they determined the fall was not accidental.
Police allege that the child’s mother, identified as Sharonica Davis, was responsible for the incident. Officials stated that Davis pushed and kicked the young girl out of the window, leading to the severe injuries.
At the time of the investigation, Davis was already in custody on separate charges related to the same incident. She was being held at the Caddo Correctional Facility, where detectives later questioned her. Following the investigation, authorities issued a warrant charging her with attempted second-degree murder, along with cruelty to a juvenile.
Despite the traumatic injuries, the 4-year-old girl received medical treatment and has since been released from the hospital. Officials confirmed that she is now under the care of the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services, ensuring her safety moving forward.
Authorities have not yet announced Davis’ next court appearance, but records indicate she remains in custody in Caddo Parish. The case continues to develop as investigators work to gather more details surrounding the incident.
This case has raised serious concerns about child safety and the importance of early intervention in situations involving potential abuse.
