A tragic early-morning crash in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, has left one teenager dead and two others injured, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The incident happened around 5 a.m. on Saturday along Beaver Valley Road in Clearfield Township. Authorities say a 19-year-old driver lost control of a Nissan Rogue after failing to navigate a turn, leading to a severe crash.
At the scene, a juvenile passenger was pronounced dead. The Glendale School District later identified the victim as 17-year-old Carter Gallaher, a high school senior known for his leadership and active involvement in school life. He served as class president, played varsity football, and had future plans to join the Army. Friends and family remember him as someone who loved the outdoors, especially fishing and music.
Two additional passengers were injured in the crash. One was airlifted to a hospital, while the other was transported by ambulance. Their current conditions have not been publicly detailed.
State police reported that the driver admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the crash. He sustained what authorities described as minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
In response to the loss, the Glendale School District has arranged counseling services for students and staff. School officials expressed deep sorrow, offering support to those affected and encouraging the community to come together during this difficult time.
The crash remains under active investigation.
