Philadelphia, PA — Philadelphia police are searching for five men accused of a violent early-morning attack at a Chinatown business, where victims were reportedly robbed and sexually assaulted at gunpoint. The incident has shaken the local community and raised concerns about safety in the area.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the crime happened around 4:40 a.m. on Saturday on the 400 block of North 9th Street. Investigators say six men forced their way into the building, targeting individuals inside.
Once inside, the suspects allegedly carried out a coordinated attack. Police said multiple victims were robbed and sexually assaulted during the incident. The group reportedly fled the scene with property valued at more than $2,000.
Authorities were able to apprehend one suspect, identified as Saidakhmad Bakiev, an 18-year-old who was found on the roof of the building. He now faces a long list of charges, including rape, aggravated assault, robbery, burglary, false imprisonment, and criminal conspiracy, among others.
The remaining five suspects are still at large. Police describe them as men in their 20s with dark hair, possibly of Russian or Central Asian descent. Investigators are actively working to identify and locate them.
When reporters visited the location on Monday, the building appeared closed and secured. A sign for “9 VIP Spa” was visible near the entrance, but all doors were shut with metal grates and padlocks. Attempts to contact the business were unsuccessful, as listed phone numbers went unanswered.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing, and they are urging anyone with information to come forward. Community members with details that could help identify the suspects or lead to arrests are encouraged to contact police immediately.
This case remains a priority for law enforcement as they continue efforts to track down those responsible and ensure justice for the victims.
