MORGAN HILL, CA — He was just another rider on the road. Now, he’s clinging to life in a trauma center.
A motorcyclist was critically injured Monday evening after a violent collision with a car at the intersection of Monterey Road and East Middle Avenue in Morgan Hill — one of the most alarming crashes the area has seen in recent months.
Officers from the Morgan Hill Police Department arrived at the scene around 6:25 p.m. to find the motorcyclist suffering from severe injuries. Paramedics rushed him to a nearby trauma center, where he remained in critical condition as of Tuesday.
But the injuries weren’t the only shock. The force of the crash ignited a small grass fire at the scene. Flames quickly spread along the roadside before crews from the Morgan Hill Fire Department stepped in and extinguished the blaze.
Police have launched a full investigation into what caused the collision. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether alcohol or drugs played any role — a question that could change everything about how this case unfolds.
What Happens Next: Investigators will be reviewing traffic camera footage, interviewing witnesses, and awaiting toxicology results before reaching any conclusions. If you were anywhere near Monterey Road and East Middle Avenue around 6:25 p.m. Monday, police need to hear from you.
