Two teens shot in Owings Mills as Baltimore County sees second deadly shooting the same day

OWINGS MILLS, Maryland — Two young people are fighting for their lives after a shooting Thursday evening in a Baltimore County neighborhood — and investigators are now working two separate gun violence cases that unfolded across the same county on the same day.

Baltimore County police said officers responded around 6:30 p.m. to the 4800 block of Simonds Drive in Owings Mills.

When they arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man — both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Their current conditions have not been publicly updated.

A second deadly shooting — hours earlier, miles away

The Owings Mills shooting was not the only act of gun violence Baltimore County dealt with on Thursday.

Around 3 p.m. — more than three hours before the Simonds Drive call came in — officers responded to the unit block of Hillside Road in Catonsville.

Inside a home, they found a woman dead.

Police said they do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the surrounding community, but the case remains under investigation.

No suspect information has been released in that case either.

Two cases. One county. One day.

A teenager, barely old enough to drive. A 19-year-old just stepping into adulthood. A woman found dead inside her own home.

Three victims. Two investigations. And a community left looking for answers.

Baltimore County police are actively working both cases and are depending on the public to help move things forward.

If you have any information — no matter how minor it seems — call 410-887-4636 or reach Metro Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-866-756-2587.
