A Washington County man will spend the rest of his life behind bars after being convicted in a 2023 killing that shook the Semmes community.
Jeffery Holley has been sentenced to life in prison, along with an additional 30 years, for first-degree robbery and the murder of Alan “Bama” Williams. The sentencing follows a jury’s decision in January 2026, when Holley was found guilty on all charges.
The case stems from an incident that occurred on February 15, 2023, near Kushla Oaks Drive East in Semmes. According to prosecutors, Holley robbed Williams of his firearm before shooting him in the head. Williams was rushed for medical treatment but succumbed to his injuries several days later.
During the trial, evidence presented by the prosecution detailed the sequence of events leading up to the fatal shooting, including testimony and forensic findings that tied Holley to the crime. The jury ultimately determined that the robbery and subsequent shooting were intentional and warranted the most severe penalties under the law.
Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood emphasized the impact of the crime on the victim’s family and the broader community. He described Alan “Bama” Williams as more than just a name in a courtroom proceeding, noting that he was a valued member of the community whose life was taken in a violent and senseless act.
The life sentence ensures Holley will remain incarcerated for the murder conviction, while the additional 30-year term addresses the first-degree robbery charge. Officials stated that the outcome reflects the justice system’s commitment to holding offenders accountable and providing closure to victims’ families.
The case serves as a reminder of the lasting consequences of violent crime and the dedication of law enforcement and prosecutors in pursuing justice for victims and their loved ones.
