Lockport, New York – A tragic crash in Niagara County on Wednesday evening left two people dead after a high-performance vehicle veered off the road and overturned multiple times, according to local authorities.

The incident occurred around 6:34 p.m. on April 22, 2026, along the 5300 block of Ridge Road in the Town of Lockport. Officials from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office responded after receiving multiple emergency calls reporting a serious rollover accident in the area.

What Happened

Preliminary investigation suggests that a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette was traveling westbound on Ridge Road when it suddenly left the roadway on the north side. The vehicle then struck a culvert, which appears to have triggered a violent rollover sequence. The car overturned several times before coming to a stop, causing catastrophic damage.

Victims Identified

Authorities confirmed that both occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, an 83-year-old man from Cheektowaga, and the passenger, a 73-year-old woman from Williamsville, did not survive the impact.

Officials have not yet released their names, pending notification of family members.
