Bakersfield Police Search for Two Suspects After Gas Station Robbery, Clerk Assault on Panama Lane

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield police are searching for two suspects accused of robbing a gas station and assaulting an employee early last month.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the robbery occurred around 5:45 a.m. on December 12 at the Shell gas station on Panama Lane.

Investigators say two male suspects entered the store and stole bottles and cases of alcohol. When a store clerk confronted the suspects, one of the men allegedly punched the employee.

After the assault, both suspects fled the scene on foot toward the Walmart on Colony Street, where police believe they were picked up by a white SUV.

Authorities described both suspects as males in their late teens to early 20s. At the time of the incident, both were wearing black puffer jackets and black pants.

The clerk’s condition was not immediately released, and police did not specify the total value of the stolen items.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information related to the robbery or the suspects is encouraged to contact the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.

Police say tips from the public could help identify the suspects and determine whether they may be connected to other recent thefts in the area.
