CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A 31-year-old Cheyenne man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say home security footage helped identify him as the suspect in a neighborhood burglary that resulted in thousands of dollars in stolen property.
According to the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on the morning of Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025, in the 3000 block of Terry Road.
Burglary Reported on Terry Road
Investigators said a homeowner reported a burglary after discovering several valuable items missing from the residence. Items taken during the theft included a 65-inch television, a PlayStation gaming console, a blue Nike backpack, and two safes, deputies said.
Security Footage Identifies Suspect
Home surveillance footage played a key role in the investigation. Deputies said the video allowed the victim to identify the suspect as Isaiah Angel Valero, a neighbor who lives down the street.
When deputies attempted to contact Valero at his camper in the 3100 block of Terry Road, they reportedly observed the stolen blue backpack and one of the safes sitting outside in the yard.
Arrest After Attempted Escape
Authorities said deputies surrounded the camper to make contact. Valero allegedly attempted to flee through a back window but was quickly apprehended without further incident.
A search warrant was executed on the camper, leading to the recovery of most of the remaining stolen property, according to the sheriff’s office.
Felony Charges Filed
Valero was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and charged with burglary and felony theft. Each charge carries a possible penalty of up to 10 years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both if convicted.
Court Appearance and Bond Decision
On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Valero appeared in Laramie County Circuit Court before Judge Antoinette Williams. The court appointed Valero a public defender and scheduled a preliminary hearing for Friday, Jan. 16, at 10:30 a.m.
During the hearing, prosecutors cited Valero’s prior criminal history, including failures to appear, probation violations, and a felony theft conviction from 2024, while recommending a $15,000 cash bond.
Judge Williams ultimately set bond at $5,000 cash, citing the nature of the charges and Valero’s record.
Case Ongoing
The investigation remains active as the case proceeds through the court system.
Authorities emphasized that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
