OKLAHOMA CITY — A woman lost her life early Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident in southwest Oklahoma City, according to local authorities.
The collision occurred at approximately 6 a.m. near the intersection of Southwest 59th Street and Western Avenue. Emergency crews and multiple police units responded quickly to the scene, securing the area and beginning an immediate investigation. Aerial footage from above showed a significant police presence just east of the intersection as officers worked to gather evidence and assess the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Officials said the driver involved in the incident fled the scene without stopping to provide assistance or contact authorities. Investigators believe the suspect vehicle may be a dark-colored car, though no additional identifying details have been released at this time.
