San Jose Husband Arrested in Deadly Domestic Shooting in Blossom Hill Neighborhood

A 54-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of his wife inside their South San Jose residence, authorities confirmed this week.

According to the San Jose Police Department, officers responded to multiple emergency calls reporting gunfire inside an apartment on Don Seville Court near Velasco Drive in the Blossom Hill area on March 20. Dispatchers received information while officers were en route that a man had allegedly shot his wife inside the home.

When officers arrived at the residence, they encountered the suspect, identified as Alfonso Morales, outside the apartment. Police said he exited the home and surrendered without resistance. He was immediately taken into custody.

Inside the residence, officers located an adult woman suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Authorities stated that officers administered emergency first aid in an attempt to stabilize her condition before paramedics arrived. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Investigators have not yet released the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin.

Morales was later booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of homicide. Officials indicated that detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting, including the motive behind the incident.

The fatal shooting marks the seventh homicide recorded in San Jose so far in 2026, raising renewed concerns about domestic violence and gun-related incidents within residential communities.

Detectives assigned to the department’s homicide unit are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward as the investigation remains active. Authorities emphasized that even small details could assist in determining what led to the deadly confrontation.

Law enforcement officials have not disclosed whether there had been prior reports of domestic disturbances at the residence. Additional updates are expected as investigators continue reviewing evidence and conducting interviews.
