A tragic late-night crash involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) claimed the lives of two people in South Holland, Illinois, authorities confirmed Wednesday.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the area of 159th Street shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday following an automatic crash detection alert triggered by an iPhone. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that an ATV had collided with a concrete barrier.
A 32-year-old woman, identified as Bria Fleming of South Holland, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 47-year-old man, identified as Terrell Jennings of Country Club Hills, was found unconscious and suffering from severe traumatic injuries. He was transported to Ingalls Memorial Hospital for emergency treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities stated that no other vehicles were involved in the crash. Preliminary findings indicate the ATV struck the barrier directly, though officials have not yet released details regarding what may have led to the collision.
The incident remains under active investigation by the South Holland Police Department, with assistance from the Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team. Investigators are working to determine factors such as speed, road conditions, visibility, and whether any additional circumstances contributed to the crash.
