Easter Weekend Ruined? Severe Storms and Temperature Chaos to Hit East Coast Sunday

If you live on the East Coast, you already know — this week’s weather has been anything but normal.

New York City hit 80°F on Wednesday, then temperatures crashed into the 40s overnight. Washington D.C. residents went from near-summer heat during cherry blossom season to cold drizzle by Thursday morning — all within hours.

And it’s not over yet.

This weekend is set to bring another round of wild swings. Temperatures could climb back into the 80s across much of the East on Saturday — but a powerful cold front is moving in fast. Behind it, temperatures are expected to drop sharply, and strong thunderstorms could hit during Easter Sunday.

Philadelphia could even break a record high on Saturday that has stood since 1892.

On top of that, warm and windy conditions this weekend will raise wildfire risks in dry areas across the region.

The good news? Relief is coming — but you need to know exactly when and where conditions will be most dangerous this Easter weekend…
