South Florida Weather Alert: Flood Risk Continues Through Wednesday as Heavy Rain Hits Miami-Dade and Broward

Residents across South Florida are being urged to stay alert as a weather warning remains in place through Wednesday night, with heavy rain increasing the risk of flooding in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

Forecasters say repeated downpours could bring widespread rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches, while some isolated areas may see up to 6 inches. With the ground already saturated from earlier showers, even moderate rain could quickly lead to water buildup in streets, low-lying areas, and neighborhoods with poor drainage.

Tuesday morning saw strong storms move across parts of the region, especially east of the stretch leading toward the Florida Keys. These storms brought gusty winds and intense bursts of rain, adding to concerns about localized flooding.

Conditions are expected to remain unstable through Wednesday, with additional storms possible throughout the day. Authorities are advising drivers to avoid flooded roads and residents to stay cautious during sudden downpours.

Coastal areas are also facing added risks. Increasing winds will create dangerous conditions along beaches, with a high risk of rip currents. Boaters are being warned about rough waters as well.

Relief is expected later in the week as drier air begins to move in, bringing more stable weather into the weekend. Until then, officials recommend staying updated on alerts and taking precautions to stay safe.
