Boston Easter Weekend Weather: Mild Temperatures, Rainy Spells Expected During Holiday and Red Sox Opener

Boston is heading into Easter weekend with relatively mild conditions, though periods of rain could dampen outdoor plans.

The city kicked off the weekend with the Boston Red Sox home opener under cloudy skies, light drizzle, and cool temperatures. Despite the damp start, conditions are expected to improve slightly during the game, with temperatures rising into the 50s and a light southwest breeze helping to dry things out.

As the evening progresses, temperatures will remain steady in the 50s. Overnight, a weather boundary moving through the region between midnight and early Saturday morning could bring a few showers and even a brief rumble of thunder.

Saturday will begin on a brighter note, with some sunshine and temperatures in the 50s. However, a backdoor cold front will shift winds and bring cooler air by evening. Coastal areas may see temperatures drop into the 40s along with patchy drizzle.

Easter Sunday looks unsettled, especially for early morning plans. Temperatures will start in the 40s with scattered rain during sunrise services. While there may be a few dry breaks in the afternoon, conditions are expected to remain damp, making outdoor activities like egg hunts muddy or soggy. Highs could reach the low 60s before another round of rain moves in later in the day.

Looking ahead, early next week will be quieter, though cooler, with highs returning to the 40s and no major weather systems expected.
