A late-night argument in Philadelphia turned violent on Friday, leaving two men shot and one fighting for his life, according to police.
The incident occurred around 8 p.m. near Fox Street and Roberts Avenue in North Philadelphia. Witnesses told investigators that a confrontation escalated quickly, leading to gunfire in a normally busy neighborhood.
Authorities say two individuals exited a gray Jeep and opened fire on a black Kia SUV. The driver of the Kia, a 23-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound to the face. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition.
A second victim, who was not inside the vehicle, was struck in the arm. He told officers he had been walking nearby when the shooting broke out, suggesting he may have been an unintended victim caught in the chaos.
Police recovered a firearm from inside the Kia but have not confirmed whether it was used during the incident. Investigators are still working to determine what sparked the argument and whether there was any prior connection between those involved.
Aerial footage from the scene showed both vehicles stopped near the roadway, with a heavy police presence in the area. A SEPTA Route 82 bus was also nearby but was not involved or damaged.
No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation remains ongoing as authorities search for answers.
