Evergreen police arrested two local residents Wednesday following a narcotics raid at a home on Wild Avenue, authorities said.
According to the Evergreen Police Department, 40-year-old Joe Nathan Rankins and 37-year-old Candace Patrice Crosby were taken into custody on April 2 as part of an ongoing drug investigation.
Rankins faces multiple serious charges, including cocaine trafficking, possession with intent to distribute, and unlawful possession of several controlled substances such as methamphetamine, fentanyl, and MDMA. He is also charged with marijuana-related offenses, possession of drug paraphernalia, chemical endangerment of a child, and attempting to elude law enforcement.
Crosby was charged with chemical endangerment of a child, police said.
During the search, officers reported seizing significant quantities of illegal substances and related items. These included approximately 100 grams of cocaine, over 40 grams of crack cocaine, nearly 15 ounces of marijuana, a mixture containing fentanyl and methamphetamine, MDMA, THC vape pens, suspected chemical substances, drug-laced edibles, a digital scale, and $698 in cash. Authorities also recovered a 9mm handgun.
The Evergreen Police Department’s Narcotics Division led the operation, with support from its Investigations and Patrol units. Additional assistance was provided by Conecuh County EMS and the Conecuh County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation remains ongoing.
