A tragic accident in New Hampshire has claimed the life of a 25-year-old man after he reportedly fell from a railroad bridge into the Merrimack River.
According to authorities, the incident happened on the evening of April 11 in Hooksett. The victim, identified as Jeremiah Willey of Allenstown, was seen struggling in the water shortly after the fall. A witness reported that he was trying to stay afloat before eventually disappearing beneath the surface.
Emergency teams quickly launched a large-scale search operation. Rescue crews used boats, drones equipped with thermal imaging, and sonar technology to locate him. The search had to be temporarily paused overnight due to low visibility but resumed early the next morning.
Around 9:15 a.m. on April 12, divers recovered a body from the river, which was later confirmed to be Willey.
Preliminary information suggests that the incident may have been accidental. A friend who was reportedly with Willey stated that they had been near the bridge before the fall, and it is believed he may have lost his balance.
Officials have stated that there are no signs of foul play at this time. However, the investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
The sudden loss has left the local community shaken, as loved ones remember a young life gone too soon.
