A southeast Texas community is in mourning after a devastating crash in Chambers County claimed the lives of four people, including a mother and her two teenage children.
Authorities say the crash occurred along FM 563 when the vehicle, reportedly traveling at a high speed, veered off the road and struck a tree. The impact was severe, leaving behind scattered debris and deep shock among residents.
The victims have been identified as 37-year-old Kara Beagle, her children Markel and Makhia Beagle, and their close family friend, Jay’Shawn Godfrey. The loss has deeply affected the local community, especially students and staff connected to Liberty High School, where two of the teens were enrolled and Godfrey had recently graduated.
Friends and neighbors describe the victims as kind, talented, and full of life. Many are struggling to process the sudden tragedy. “They touched so many lives,” one family friend shared, reflecting the collective grief being felt.
Investigators believe the car may have swerved before leaving the roadway, even appearing to lift from a nearby driveway before crashing. The circumstances are still under investigation.
In response, the community has come together in support, offering comfort to grieving families. Local schools have also arranged counseling services to help students and staff cope with the emotional impact.
As loved ones prepare to travel and say their final goodbyes, the community continues to lean on each other, honoring the lives lost far too soon.
