Burnsville Motorcyclist Killed on I-35E in Eagan — Identity to Be Released Thursday

A tragic crash on a busy Twin Cities interstate has left a young motorcyclist dead and a community in shock.

The Minnesota State Patrol confirmed that a 29-year-old Burnsville man lost his life Tuesday night after losing control of his motorcycle on southbound Interstate 35E near Highway 77 in Eagan. The crash occurred around 9:40 p.m.

According to authorities, the rider was on a Suzuki GSX-S when the bike veered into gravel and dirt along the roadside. The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike, which came to rest in the right ditch. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the man could not be saved.

The victim’s identity has not yet been officially released — authorities say that information is expected to come Thursday.

This stretch of I-35E in the south metro is a heavily traveled route, and residents are being urged to stay cautious, especially during late-night hours.
