Five people are dead after a small private plane crashed and caught fire near Austin, Texas, late Thursday night.
The crash happened around 11:05 p.m. near Wimberley — a small town about 40 miles southwest of Austin.
Who Were the Victims?
The Amarillo Pickleball Club identified all five victims as its members:
- Seren Wilson
- Brooke Skypala
- Stacy Hedrick
- Glen Appling
- Hayden Dillard
The group was on their way to a pickleball tournament when the tragedy struck.
What Happened?
Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed the plane — a Cessna 421C — was carrying one pilot and four passengers. None survived.
Authorities say the aircraft was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of impact. The plane caught fire immediately after crashing.

The Amarillo Pickleball Club released an emotional statement saying:
“Today, the Club has received terrible news that we all must mourn in the loss of five members of our Amarillo pickleball family. Please keep their precious families in your thoughts and prayers.”
Investigation Underway
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board have launched a full investigation into the crash. Authorities confirmed there was no mid-air collision involved.
A second aircraft flying nearby landed safely in New Braunfels.
