A 13-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being shot inside a home in Joliet, Illinois — and investigators say they still don’t know exactly what happened.
What we know
Joliet police responded just before 5 p.m. on Monday to a home in the 400 block of Market Street after reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found the boy inside with a gunshot wound to his left shoulder.
He was rushed to St. Joseph Medical Center in critical condition, then airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood for advanced care.
What we don’t know
Police have not released details about how the shooting occurred or who else may have been in the home at the time. No arrests have been made.
The investigation is ongoing.
