A tragic late-night crash on Chicago’s Southwest Side claimed the life of a driver after a high-speed collision led to a vehicle fire, according to the Chicago Police Department.
The incident occurred just before midnight in the Archer Heights neighborhood, creating a devastating scene that ended with one fatality but, fortunately, no additional injuries.

Authorities reported that a male driver operating a Jeep Cherokee was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred. As he continued along the roadway, the Jeep collided with a Honda Pilot driven by a 67-year-old man who was entering traffic on Pulaski Road.
Following the impact, the Jeep driver lost control of the vehicle. The SUV veered off course, crashing into a nearby tree and fence. Moments later, the vehicle caught fire, intensifying the severity of the incident.
