Four Charged After Drug Raid Uncovers Meth, Fentanyl and Children Inside Gas City Home

Gas City, Indiana: A narcotics investigation in Grant County has resulted in four arrests after law enforcement officers reportedly discovered drugs, firearms and two young children inside a residence.

Members of the Grant County Drug Task Force had been conducting surveillance at a home located near West North C Street in Gas City. Following the investigation, officers obtained a search warrant earlier this week.

Authorities executed the warrant later that evening. During the search, investigators said they found approximately 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine, about two grams of suspected fentanyl, digital scales and drug packaging materials. Firearms were also reportedly located inside the residence.

Two small children were present in the home at the time of the search. As a result, the Indiana Department of Child Services was notified and responded to the scene.

The four individuals taken into custody and their preliminary charges include:

Joshua Couch

  • Dealing in methamphetamine – Level 2 felony
  • Dealing in a narcotic drug – Level 4 felony
  • Maintaining a common nuisance – Level 6 felony
  • Neglect of a dependent – Level 6 felony

Macy Lighty

  • Possession of methamphetamine – Level 6 felony
  • Maintaining a common nuisance – Level 6 felony
  • Neglect of a dependent – Level 6 felony

Mark Howard

  • Possession of a narcotic drug – Level 6 felony
  • Possession of paraphernalia – Misdemeanor
  • Visiting a common nuisance – Misdemeanor

Tristen Winstead

  • Possession of methamphetamine – Level 6 felony
  • Possession of a narcotic drug – Level 6 felony
  • Neglect of a dependent – Level 5 felony

Officials stated that all suspected controlled substances seized during the operation have been submitted for laboratory testing. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details may be released as the case proceeds through the legal system.
